31 day blog challenge...... Day 23

Your dream job.......

Growing up I never knew what I wanted to be, I went through phases of wanting to do this or that like the times when I wanted to be -: a Pediatric Surgeon, Choreographer, Nurse, Police woman, forensic scientist, Accountant,  There are probably tons more professions I thought I like to do over the years.

I do know that I don't want to go back to doing payroll. I never chose that career path I just sort of fell into it. I needed a job to pay the rent and applied for an admin job in what happened to be a payroll outsourcing company, I worked my way up and 8 years later I was a payroll manager. I was then made redundant just weeks before I found out I was Pregnant.

As silly as some people might think this is at 30 I'm still no closer to figuring out what I want to do, I think I want to go into something I.T related.

Sorry for the silence

I've been busy lately and I'm struggling to find anything to write about these days but fear not I shall be posting every day for a month starting tomorrow, you'll be sick hearing from me by the end. My friend Emma is doing a 31 day blog challenge on her blog Boy oh Boy I am really excited about this, I don't have to think about what I should write.

In other stuff, Its my husbands birthday today I made him this lovely motherboard cake (before anyone says anything I know its not technically correct :-) )

I am currently job hunting, Its not going well I need something Part time and temporary for 3 months (we are trying to raise some money, which is why I'll only be going out to work for a couple of months) there seems to be nothing out there at the minute.

Long term Career wise I know that I don't want to go back to Payroll management when S goes to school so after having a meeting with both Belfast Met and Northern regional college Careers people last week I've decided that I'll probably re-train in IT as its the only thing I have an interest in that I can make a career out off.

See you all again tomorrow.......

10 years time...

Sparked by a post by one of my mummy friends.  We had be doing a photo thread of us 10 years ago then now, Someone then asked........

So where do I see myself in 10 years time....

Well I'll have a 12 year old and maybe one more certainly If S had her way.

I'll hope to be a successful writer (although only if I can get rid of this writers block to actually start) a scientist or working in IT. It seems after my trip to the careers advisors at college on Friday morning (I used to be a payroll manager and I know that I really don't want to go back to that career when S starts school, hence the trip to the careers people)  that science and IT suit me best. I have to agree as they are the only two interests that I have that I could possibly make some sort of career out of.

and I'll still be happily married to my best friend.

Where do you see yourself in 10 years time?
